You are certainly right about the enterprise users, but my time as a hobbyist is not worthless *to me* and going from one to the next to the next means I have to get things working again in the meantime.

Even for the home user, there is something to be said for distributions that are stable for several years at a time.

Why would you be using a distibution which has made it clear what the support windows are from day one. And in fact treats it as a feature.

If you don't like such things then don't install a distribution which advertises in big flashing lights that there's a support window and what it is.
