Some put the entire article/blog entry into RSS. Some put in the first paragraph. Some put in the first N words, chopping in the middle of a sentence. Some just include the article title. Because of this nonuniformity, it's hard to design a tool that efficiently supports all of these different modes of operation. I use Sage, which works reasonably well with the mix of RSS feeds I follow. But better tools, I think, will require some hints from the RSS feeds themselves about which style is being followed.
