Users of Suspend2 can rest assured that I will not allow the patches to suffer bitrot. I will be continuing to use them myself, and will therefore have the best of incentives to keep them up-to-date.

Now for the downside: I won't, however, be making any sort of concerted effort at getting them merged into the vanilla kernel after my move, and am not inclined to make a big effort beforehand.

"I won't ... be making a concerted effort"?

This reminds me of Mrs Slocombe from Are You Being Served: "I am unanimous in this!"

"Concerted" is from the latin meaning "step together" and a concerted effort is one in which everybody works together.

Well getting anything included in the kernel _is_ a concerted effort and it's exactly the lack of "stepping together" that was the cause for this message: he's tired of seemingly having to fight to get some kind of recognition for the work he has done.

The current swsusp support in the kernel doesn't work for many and although swsusp2 is far from perfect it works for many more but now the people from "swsusp1" have decided to work on swsusp3 which will combine things from swsusp1 & 2, but nobody is working together. And the basically means that we won't have working suspend/hibernate out-of-the-box for some time yet. *sigh*
