Groklaw has posted a series of reports
from the U.S. patent office meeting on prior art databases. From Bruce Perens's statement: "I respect that there are questions we've been asked to avoid, because this isn't the right forum. I'd just like to make sure that this activity is not confused as addressing the problems that software patenting presents for Open Source. It only deals with patent quality, and I hope that anyone reporting on this meeting understands that patent quality is a little piece of the overall problem for Open Source.
