Well it looks like that was only because he didn't specify a root= argument when booting the kernel. It look like he was only trying to test the early boot process.

Posted Feb 19, 2006 23:52 UTC (Sun) by jwb (guest, #15467) [Link] You need only look at the boot log to see that the kernel discovered his 4 SCSI disks and one ATAPI CDROM, as well as the four ethernet interfaces and various USB root hubs. It really is true that root= was not specified.
