Hi folks:

The folks at NPACI have built an excellent cluster distribution that
emphasizes ease of management, configurability and security. See
http://www.rocksclusters.org. It is based upon RedHat 7.3. It is being
used by a number of educational and commercial organizations, has an
active development team, and they are quite responsive to
questions/inquiries.

The distribution is not OSCAR-based, and it has some significant
advantages over the OSCAR methodology/implementation (such as not
relying upon System-Imager which can be painful to use and setup
properly). It has some excellent technology (eKV, graph structure)
built in. A GUI is not needed, the cluster will be installed entirely
from text mode applications that are quite simple to use.

  Joe
