You still haven't understood the point about captalism. Using GPL
software is a competitive advantage, because you don't need to spend a
lot of time developing the software.
You can develop all of your own drivers. You can develop hardware that
can be disabled before the OS boots. But it costs money. With GPLv3 there
is no such advantage regarding DRM anymore, you can no longer add a few
lines to the display drivers to do Macrovision and be done. You must at
least write the driver from scratch and keep it propietary. Even then you
are in legal gray area.
Sure, they can write all it themselves. They can write their own OS. But
if they want DRM they cannot take the competitive advantage by abusing
the sweat and tears of the free software community.
