the issues of getting Linux to run on the new Macs. "Moshe Bar, a
technology entrepreneur, said he has been able to run both FreeBSD Unix and
Debian Linux on a new Mactel machine using virtualization software from
XenSource, which he co-founded. But Apple's protectiveness of its hardware
specs has so far prevented Bar from getting the graphics, sound or Wi-Fi to
work."

Windows on a Mac might be new (though hardly "good"), but Linux on a Mac is quite old news.

Yes, but the EFI implementation on the Mactel is significantly altered from the Itanium EFI, so there is still some work that needs to be done in order to make it function.

A triple-boot capable machine with a nice design would be extremely attractive to those of us who have to develop for all the platforms.
