So... just in case, this will cover any OpenGL-enabled card? nVidia and ATI? Anything else?

Xglx uses the OpenGL support of an existing X server. So, theoretically, if you have a card that can do OpenGL in X today, then you can use Xglx.

Note that Xglx requires that certain operations be accelerated which not all drivers currently do, although the popular ones are being fixed right now.
