SRA announced PowerGres, a multi-threaded Windows port of PostgreSQL 7.3

SRA announced PowerGres, a multi-threaded Windows port of PostgreSQL
7.3, which will be on sale from March, 2003.  The license has not been
specified yet.

It is priced at 48,000 yen (about $385) and they expect the annual
revenue of PowerGres for the first year to be 100,000,000 yen (about
$801,000).

footnote: In Japan, PostgreSQL is so popular that the Japanese MySQL
users group calls themselves "MyNA (MySQL Nippon Association)"
("minor" ;-) and MIRACLELINUX, which was founded by Oracle Japan,
sells their own commercial PostgreSQL package.
