The opensuse project just released the third beta of 10.1..
You can find the most annoying problems with this (and the beta2) release on this webpage.

Regarding the missing/ poor changelogs, please keep in mind that the project is still young, fedora need some time too to mature.

It still doesn't mention that XFS is not supported during installation. I
wasted my time already with beta2, downloading and burning it, until I
found out that I couldn't test it because of the missing XFS support.
Fortunately, I found the appropriate bug report and know now that it'll
(hopefully) reappear in beta4. So I don't have to waste time with beta3
but wait for beta4. But others might not be so lucky. Please mention such
important bugs on that page! For us, it's an absolute showstopper.
