Parent article: GPLv3: a first look

I followed the link "Stallman told the KDE developers..." and came to a page on linuxtoday.com with an ad by Microsoft, right on top and about 40% of the screen width, titled "Linux reference center", with stories on "RadioShack Saves Millions of Dollars by Choosing Windows Over Linux", "Rayovac Chooses Windows Over Linux for Lower Cost of Ownership, Less Risk", and so on.

I wonder whether linuxtoday.com is still a site that should be linked to by LWN.net.

Or is that supposed to be ironic? If yes, I'm not getting it.

Microsoft is targeting linux sites for adverts.

Any linux site that takes adverts is likely to get that crap, so I wouldn't worry - MS is funding their enemies' "propoganda" efforts.

Look at it this way - if LWN took paid adverts, MS would be desperately trying to get their advertising up here.

Cheers,
Wol
