Hi

We would be most grateful if you would post the news on these templates. Thank you

We have just released over 50 sizes of labels for Openoffice Writer:
http://www.worldlabel.com/Pages/openoffice-template.htm

The collection includes CD, DVD, mailing and other types of labels and sizes. Making your own
labels with OOo Writer using these templates is easy and the set up time is quick.

Templates are A5 size - 8.5" x 11" and will work with Openoffice.org Writer installed on Linux,
Solaris, FreeBSD and Windows operating systems. To download, right click "Save target As" a then
open.

The collection has over 50 sizes and types which include CD, DVD, mailing, address, shipping, VHS,
diskette, round and other types of labels and sizes. Mini CD, Business card CD, and an AveryŽ Label
template cross reference chart is available to find corresponding templates. Templates are blank
and are excellent for mail merge, designing labels by importing images and using text boxes to
personalize the labels and also general labeling needs like filing, storage and much other
application.

Anyone is free to download the label templates in either .stw for Openoffice.org 1.1x version and
.ott file format for Openoffice new version 2.0. Templates are free for use in any manner and are
governed by the GNU and JCA license.

Worldlabel.com will continue to make advancements in free licensing documentation templates for
labeling. Some of the CD/DVD and media label template are for users with some design experience, we
will publish more user friendly templates for these types very soon as well as label reports for
Openoffice.org database applications. Worldlabel.com plans to introduce label templates for
Openoffice OOo Draw and in file formats for other GNU licensing products by end of January 2006.

Sincerely

Russell

What I love about Free Software

This is a great addition to OOo! We've had the gLabels package for years
and it's a fine lightweight applications (that supports hundreds of standard forms --- mostly Avery --- just for U.S. letter sized paper and well over 100 european A4 forms as well).

If someone can write a little to convert gLabels metrics to these OOo Templates then we can instantly expand both. (I'll probably still use gLabels for little things, and my father will continue to use it, but OOo is going to have a much broader audience for which another, extremely common, office productivity task will JUST WORK.

I hope that the next release of OOo will include this or include a mechanism for optionally fetching and installing this and other third party plugins and packages. (Perhaps a "wizard" that could link to an OOo maintained repository and be configured to your OS/distribution's native package manager file-type and commands --- including the ability to call sudo; so I'd bring up a dialog box in OOo which would query the OOo repository (over HTTP/SOAP/XML-RPC or whatever), then I'd click on the plug-in (such as this Template collection), and OOo would see that I'm on Debian and not running as root so it would check that the package is new, fetch the .deb and call: sudo dpkg --install ... and then reload it's "installed plug-ins" module(s). (Think "Click-n-Run" for OOo without the subscription fees).
