Will GStreamer developers be bound by any contract?

GStreamer to support DRM
What I would like to see is the ability to play as many formats as possible without GStreamer developers entering any agreements with content providers. If GStreamer can use existing DRM modules (e.g. Windows DLLs), that's fine. If GStreamer developers are going to be bound by any agreement regarding what they can or cannot do with the GStreamer code, I won't trust their software regardless of the license. I'll prefer different software even for non-DRM files.
