OT: Firefox stability

I know this is off-topic, but has anyone else found that 1.5 is less stable than 1.0.7. I've made sure all my plug-ins and everything are up-to-date, but I've seen several crashes in the last few days after upgrading... (on Windoze unfortunately).

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

On Windows it's somewhat less stable, on Linux it's mixed bag: on one system it's rock-solid (even more stable then 1.0.7), on another it's so flacky I can not really use it. I'm still investigating this problem: may be it's difference in drivers, may it's some libraries (both systems are Gentoo-based so they are not exactly the same).

I've had mixed results. But one thing you should do is run a completely fresh installation of 1.5 into a new path (on Window$), and create a fresh profile. It works if you install it over 1.0, but the official line seems to be that it's less stable that way. Some of the RCs were flakey on Window$ but the final release seems fine. I've only had one crash on Linux so far.

I have indeed noticed a degradation of stability as well. There are also a couple of new bugs, like the sticky titlebar where it displays the title of a tab you closed a long time ago.

Also, the loading animation often continues to keep whirling after the page is loaded.

I would go back to 1.07 but fastcache would be too much of a loss.

On OSX, FF1.5 is magnitudes more reliable than the 1.0 releases.
