Ricoh Supports KDE Printing Development (KDE.News)Ricoh Supports KDE Printing Development (KDE.News)Posted Oct 27, 2005 8:11 UTC (Thu) by ekj (subscriber, #1524)Parent article: Ricoh Supports KDE Printing Development (KDE.News) I experienced something similar the other day. I was looking for a cheap laser for printing some course-material for my students, and showed up in the store with a list of well-supported printers collected from the internet. I'm guessing 90% of the printers there would have, in actuality, worked well with Linux. But 1 of them had a large Tux on it, next to the Windows and Mac icons. Guess which one I bougth ? At home I plugged it in and turned on the computer, Mandriva informed me "there seems to be a new printer connected, would you like to configure it?", "configuration" consisted of telling Mandriva that I'm in europe, so I tend to use A4 papers, and that was literally it. This is nice news.

Ricoh Supports KDE Printing Development (KDE.News) Posted Oct 27, 2005 20:16 UTC (Thu) by cventers (subscriber, #31465) [Link] Hopefully Linux support is becoming a big trend. It's nice to see Tuxstamped on the box, and I think you're far from alone in the realm of Linux users - we're likely to choose hardware that proudly displays Linux compatibility. So maybe that will make said compatibility an important thing.
