Panasonic Digital Concepts Center Launches New Technology Collaboration
Center Focused on Embedded Linux
SAN JOSE, Calif., (Sept. 13, 2005) -- Panasonic Digital Concepts Center
(PDCC), the corporate venturing arm of Panasonic Corporation of North
America, has announced the launch of its new Technology Collaboration Center,
with a technology focus on embedded Linux OS applications and middleware
solutions which enable Panasonic's leading digital consumer electronics
products.
The Technology Collaboration Center offers support to startups and affords
companies an opportunity to work with Panasonic as a potential collaboration
partner. The new center allows startup companies direct access to Panasonic
Digital Concepts Center's wide-ranging resources such as its extensive
venture capital network, business development support and consulting
services, its vast network of industry experts and many contacts within the
international Linux community.
"Panasonic Digital Concepts Center is now actively recruiting select early
stage start-up companies to participate in the new Center," said Brad
McManus, director of the Center.
Paul Liao, Chief Technology Officer for Panasonic North American operations
noted that "our objective is to facilitate mutually beneficial technology
partnerships that are rewarding to both the start-ups and Panasonic."
Strategically located in proximity to Panasonic offices in the heart of
Silicon Valley, the Center is expected to become a focused micro-community of
embedded Linux developers, providing a fertile environment for collaboration
and business growth. McManus emphasized that "in addition to opportunities
for engaging Panasonic as a partner and/or potential customer, the
participating companies will be able to pursue business opportunities with
other non-Panasonic companies as well."
Companies that believe they would be a good fit for the Center are encouraged
to send an executive summary to PDCC at the e-mail address below.
