Andrew Morton's kernel status report
any time that a group comes to the kernel list with the attitude 'what I've just created is the best thing ever, you need to just accept it and merge it' the pushback that they get is extreme.
while Hans wasn't quite this obnoxious with reiser4, he was pretty close, in spite of the fact that he went through the exact same thing before with reiser3.
adding a large chunk of code to the kernel (as is needed for a new filesystem) is always a slow process with a bunch of hoops to jump through, see the GFS folks, who have been extremely accomodating to all the requests from the kernel folks.
remember that the kernel folks have to maintain this code over the long run, so it needs to meet their criteria.
