Turbolinux announced "TurboDB", a commercial PostgreSQL-based product

Turbolinux announced [1] their new product "TurboDB 8" ("8" but it's
the initial release of TurboDB ;-) for the Japanese market.

TurboDB 8 is a product based on "Turbolinux 8 Server", featuring
PostgreSQL and bundling some other tools.  It is priced at 98,000 yen
(about $800) and will be on sale from Dec 2.

footnote: SRA [2], which acquired Turbolinux recently, is the current
employer of Bruce Momjian [3], one of the core developers of PostgreSQL.
SRA is known as a company which has been contributing to the Japanese
open source community since the days long before the term "open
source" was coined.  Japanization of PostgreSQL was also done by the
folks at SRA.
