While this article is nice about the prospects of low cost supercomputing Lion may no longer be using this machine. See this link. This whole sector is experiencing pain.

That may be true, but it is a reflection of the company and failure to produce drug leads, not the utility or cost of their cluster.
We have a 1,000 node cluster that was far less expensive than a comparable "big iron" supercomputer.
