Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine)
Linux Magazine interviews
Aaron Seigo about his Trolltech sponsored work on KDE. "We also
sat back and went, "you know it'd be really nice if we could really show
what X, the X modern protocol, especially from X.org, is capable of these
days. Cause it's got a bad reputation or has a crude one largely because
development was so stagnant for so many years, but X.org has really picked
up again and we're starting to see some exciting capabilities on the X.11
platform. We also have Q4 coming out from Trolltech, that's got, I was
playing around with the new painting facilities that were there yesterday,
and was really happy with how much more progressed Q4 is over Q3 for what
we can do eye-candy wise."

Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine) Posted Aug 20, 2005 7:00 UTC (Sat) by xyz (subscriber, #504) [Link] For those reading this part of the interview, or even the whole interview, you should notice that where you see Q3 it should be Qt3 and Q4 is Qt4 as well. I know this because I read Aaron's Blog entry or else it I would be confused as well. :-D
Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine) Posted Aug 20, 2005 12:28 UTC (Sat) by henning (subscriber, #13406) [Link] Yes, this is a little bit confusing..It would be very nice if the editors of the linux-magazine would actually proofread their articles. ;-) Or at last notify Aaron in advance that they would like to publish the interview, and ask if he have some suggestions.
Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine) Posted Aug 21, 2005 3:35 UTC (Sun) by aseigo (guest, #18394) [Link] part of the problem is that i pronounce Qt "correctly" (according toTrolltech) as "cute". "cute three" and "cute technology" etc. is just not as easy to hear and get right as "queue tee four" ... in future i'll be sure to spell it out so that the interviewer has a better chance. just one of those interesting interviewee lessons to be learned on my part =)
Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine) Posted Aug 21, 2005 20:00 UTC (Sun) by vblum (guest, #1151) [Link] why are there a bunch of apple's icons (iMail, iPhoto) in the task basket in one of the screenshots?
Interview with Aaron Seigo (Linux Magazine) Posted Aug 22, 2005 8:48 UTC (Mon) by ivor (guest, #31998) [Link] Because clearly you're looking at a mocked up screenshot created with a graphics app.Q. What do you do when you're creating a mockup to show an idea? A. You grab he prettiest representative images you can find and paste them in. You don't go creating fresh artwork from scratch.
