For another example of the Gnome attitude towards users and UI patches have a look at this bug: 115763

It seems that although nobody can come up with a good reason why the dialog can't provide eject as an option, the nautilus developer has dug in defending the current laughable dialog interaction. The bug has been open 2 years guys!
