Debian swirl from Adobe

Do you suppose this will have an effect on Debian's ability to license the swirl for official CDs?

No. The standalone swirl is the Open Use logo; the different, *Official Use* logo is what's used to mark official CD images. Check out http://www.debian.org/logos/ and see for yourself.
