one other thing - "ignored any non-x86 platforms" - there's an official
S/390 port.

And, if I'm not mistaken, there used to be an official SPARC port and possibly an official Alpha port.

Yes, there did used to be an Alpha port in the 7.0/7.1 timeframe. I made it and it used to reside on the ftp server with everything else.
