Supporting RDMA on Linux
The problem is that RDMA operations do not "complete" in this manner. An
RDMA user can reasonably set up a buffer, pass a descriptor to a remote
system, and expect data to show up in the buffer sometime next week.
Only a week ? Some of our HPC users will want to do this over the course
of several months (>=3). :-)
Myrinet's GM drivers use RDMA for some operations, there is some
information on that in this FAQ
answer.
