Apple Opens WebKit CVS and Bug Database (KDE.News)
>Well done, Apple, for even trying.
Well done, as in a steak or hamburger?
I'm sorry, I remain a bit skeptical about this.
Apple's original OS license was a real "All your code belongs to us"
license. (APSL v1) But then they did a good job taking the time to revamp the
license and come up with a very good legal basis for community development
of software (APSL v2) .
Then they took Safari, and all it's code, and closed it up. "All
your code belongs to us, thanks guys!".
Now, they are coming back around again.
Are they coming back around because there has been a change of heart?
(as it appears and is welcome) or are they coming back around
for another code harvest?
The other "All your code belongs to us, now bow down,,, " is not
the Apple way. That's someone elses way of doing business.
I really do like the "for even trying" remark. I feel that way about
Apple, pretty much always has, that somewhere down there, folks
are trying to do good. But many times bitten, ,
