Red Hat (Netscape) LDAP and OpenLDAP -- where's the analysis?Red Hat (Netscape) LDAP and OpenLDAP -- where's the analysis?Posted Jun 2, 2005 13:49 UTC (Thu) by linuxbox (subscriber, #6928)Parent article: Red Hat's directory server
I'd sure like, this point, to see a meaningful comparison of Redhat's semi-proprietary software, and the OpenLDAP software, and feedback from a) Redhat/Fedora on their thinking about OpenLDAP, and b) similar feedback from the OpenLDAP folks.
I don't get the sense on the openldap-devel list that those folks are planning on giving up in despair. In fact, if you have a look at the features supported in OpenLDAP 2.3 and even 2.2, the Redhat feature list looks a lot less intimidating than people (apparently) suppose.
