There is _nothing_ wrong with PS/2 connectors for keyboard & mouse, indeed there seems to be no benefit in USB for these devices. Unless you have configurable input devices, such as the Twiddler or Kinesis. With USB, the computer can configure them (load your saved settings, etc); with PS/2, you have to type your configuration into the device.
