I'll put my hand up for user-realtime: I use linux as a software synth for live work. I have to be very careful to avoid x-runs because they sound terrible. There should be no reason why I can't have a pdf up showing the score and select between that and the synth interface, but if I do I get a stutter. This is with no measurable cpu on the cpu monitor!

A friend of mine has just put together a recording studio using a linux distribution for music. He also needs user-realtime for his 8-track work.

The demand is out there - we just don't know who to ask, and what to ask them.
