I think it's unbelievable that the next stable kernel might ship without any way to access LVM volumes. I have gigabytes of data on LVM volumes, and I will have a hell of a time migrating to 2.6 if there's no LVM support. There's such a thing as backwards compatibility!

There's also such a thing as patch(1).

What's the big deal? If Linus chooses to not apply the patches (and I don't think he should yet, they're both too green), both LVM2 and EVMS will track the stable kernel tightly.
