SPIKESOURCE JOINS OPEN SOURCE DEVELOPMENT LABS

SpikeSource to Collaborate with Other OSDL Members
to Advance Key Initiatives

BEAVERTON, Ore. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - April 4, 2005 -- SpikeSource, an
open source IT services company, today announced it is joining the Open
Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium dedicated to accelerating
the adoption of Linux® in the enterprise. Participation in OSDL initiatives
will allow SpikeSource to collaborate with other members by sharing
information and expertise on the latest open source projects, stacks,
applications, system management tools, patches and bugs.

SpikeSource's mission is to become a trusted partner to open source
developers and enterprises for the testing, certification and support of open
source software interoperability. The company supports enterprise open source
adoption by certifying and testing infrastructure components, including
Linux, Apache, MySQL, Tomcat, JBoss, Axis, and Hibernate, and providing
updates, management tools and technical support services.

"We are pleased to work with SpikeSource on OSDL initiatives," said Stuart
Cohen, CEO of OSDL. "Membership and participation from SpikeSource reinforces
that OSDL is a central place where vendors, end users and the development
community can come together to effectively accelerate the adoption of Linux
in the enterprise."

OSDL sponsors industry-wide initiatives focused on Linux in
telecommunications, in the enterprise data center and on corporate desktops.
The Lab also provides Linux computing and test facilities in the United
States and Japan, available to developers around the world.

"SpikeSource believes that there is a renaissance under way for software
where corporations are not beholden to specific vendor solutions and where
best-of-breed assembly helps companies run their businesses better," said Kim
Polese, SpikeSource CEO. "SpikeSource is looking forward to working with
other OSDL members to help further this vision."
