The only way to find a compiler bug is to compile code, thing that user usually did not do, or at least not too much as it has to be done for a distros.

That said, if they come out with a 2.4 and 2.6 kernel compiled with gcc 4.0 for mid April then or Fedora or GCC people are real wizard.

BTW, IMHO, (giving a certified no-wrong-code-gcc-4.0) a stable distro should be compiled with gcc 3.3 and g++ 4.0 and gcj 4.0, and provide both gcc 3.3 and 4.0 suite; also I guess this is the Fedora plan.

Can't compile the kernel on GCC 4? Bugger. Wish I didn't do "yum update"...
