Fedora Core 4 Test 1 slips
Its been fun, but the bloat on the release is getting out of hand...and the need to get updates from N different yum repositories...and the shoddy coverage of packaged software (so much unpackaged...so much out of date)...and the inability to migrate major components between releases (why must I wait for a release to upgrade the gnome environment?)...
The fact that official repos don't even carry Thunderbird 1.0 in Feb 2005 tells the whole story - I have to keep a $HOME/local path of stuff I compile myself in order to get recent stuff. Your official repos carry Thunderbird 0.7 or 0.8...pathetic.
Now look at Gentoo's package listing. How do you plan to get Fedora extras to get the coverage this repository has? I'm blown away at the coverage in packages.gentoo.org. They have EVERYTHING and it is RECENT.
BYE BYE FEDORA.
