What I'd like to do with my camera is to hook it up to the USB port and have the computer take pictures in regular intervals. Or my son should not need to run around the scene for each picture in his lego movies, but can just hit a key on the laptop or something, after adjusting lego actor's move.
My camera does support PTP, but it does not allow the computer to take pictures :-(

gphoto2 -I 30
And take a picture every 30 seconds.
