Parent article: The first public Sunbird release

Does someone know if there are plans to integrate Sunbird into Mozilla?

I'm rather sad that Mozilla seems to be forgotten be the press which focuses more on Firefox, Thunderbird, etc. However, I believe that the integrated Mozilla package is of high importance.

(In my opinion, Mozilla should drop the chat-feature, though, in order to simplify the application a bit.)

You can already integrate Sunbird in the Mozilla suite. Go over to
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/ and read the section titled
"Mozilla Calendar vs. Mozilla Sunbird".

I don't want to have it all integrated, remembering hard days when a
crashing Netscape 4 Browser window also lead to lost Mail composing
windows.

And you can build or install the Suite without the chat functionality.
And even if it is installed, the only point it adds to the Mozilla Suite
menu is the activation command in the "Windows" submenu, doesn't it?
