Not to bring up an endless topic, but there is probably a lot of expertise available here.

What is the state of the art in generic 'pay per view' technology? I assume that many sites would
like to have a way to generate a small, one time charge for visiting a site. I'm sure it's coming,
but have not seen a discussion in a while. I'm aware that there are zillions of problems
with this idea.
