I really like the fact that they split the requirement for X-Windows off from the core. X, IMHO, does not belong on headless servers.

Thomas is also the maintainer for several other pieces of commonly-used software, such as the ncurses library and the "dialog" text-mode interface builder.

X. It should come with termcap, terminfo, curses, whatever.

I concur. It would be very nice to have a much smaller subset of LSB suitable for embedded systems. There is an awful lot of work being repeated by most outfits that adopt Linux for embedded devices.Group to Divide Linux Standards Base (eWeek)
