SCO Files Claim of Appeal in DC -- Claim Being Evaluated (Groklaw)
Groklaw notes that SCO is attempting to appeal the dismissal of the DaimlerChrysler case - which it declined to proceed with. "Anybody can file the claim. That doesn't mean it's going anywhere. The court will take your claim notice and your $375 but then they evaluate your claim to see if you can appeal that way or if you must file an application and get permission to appeal."

SCO Files Claim of Appeal in DC -- Claim Being Evaluated (Groklaw) Posted Jan 12, 2005 22:19 UTC (Wed) by huffd (guest, #10382) [Link] Very foolish, they should just slink away on this one. If they loose their claim they'll have to appeal, which they may loose anyways. Secondly there will be no monetary gain from this appeal, because they cannot win since they'll never be able to prove that they lost money due to DC's delay, in fact DC has been overly kind about this whole thing.
SCOX could get sued over this themselves with all their muck raking.
Each and every setback that SCOX receives in court costs them seven figures either in legal fees or in the stock market. The only people making any money are the lawyers.
Taken from Poe's "How to write a Blackwood article", in the end SCOX will be better off when they are "Headless, Dogless and McBride-less".. ;)
