Sorry to be late to this, but if I didn't know where to go with Linux, I'd head to either kernel-janitors <http://janitor.kernelnewbies.org/>> or kernelnewbies <http://www.kernelnewbies.org/>> websites (looks like they merged) and ask the question. Of course, the LKML is also a good starting point to ask questions.
