When time_t wraps, it'll go negative. Depending on the bugginess of the platform, we may see crashes, 1970 or 1901...

Yep it goes negative, on Linux at least (using clock format from tcl, which I think is
calling the glibc function):

0x7fffffff -> Tue Jan 19 03:14:07 AM GMT 2038
0x80000000 -> Fri Dec 13 12:45:52 PM PST 1901
