So just point your /etc/make.profile to the new profile, esync, and update world. done. :)

Well, I don't see it (I finished sync'ing about 15 minutes ago...
(11-16-04_12:15:00 AM EST)). I've
been doing just as you suggest for a couple years now...

(I'm looking for default-x86-2004.3, not default-x86-2004.2)

Actually, use the cascading profile

We've switched over to cascading profiles to make administration easier.

default-linux/x86/2004.3 is what you want. You'll need >=.51 portage to make it work.
