Well, maybe someday, Netraverse will learn from VMWare how to compile modules without manually patching if the kernel doesn't appears on their list...
It still remains to be seen, of course...

whether or not that is A Good Thing.
For as much as I am heard to say publicly that I think that RMS is overdoing it a bit on the GNU/Linux issue, I cannot but acknowledge that the GNU Project is in large part responsible for the fact that Our Plans For World Domination Are Precisely On (if not a bit ahead of) schedule.
That being the case, their argument that the capability of running MS Office on {*}Linux systems is actually a bad idea, strategically, carries quite a bit of weight.
In psychological terms, it's 'enabling': making it easier for someone to continue to engage in poorly chosen behavior -- which running MS Office clearly is, and not solely because it's Proprietary. Just ask that college who've outlawed Outlook. :-)
