I've run both PaX and SG and I've had good results with each. One data point that you should keep in mind when making your choice is that PaX constrains how large a memory footprint a process can have ( how much varies depending on configuration options ) while SG does not. If you are running something that wants a lot of RAM ( > 1.25 G or so ), then PaX is probably not for you. ( This is a pragmatic note, not a flame or endorsement of either PaX or SG: I really do like both just fine. )
