Samsung SDS Announces Major Win with Leading Global Customer

SAMSUNG SDS ANNOUNCES MAJOR WIN WITH LEADING GLOBAL CUSTOMER
Cargill, Inc. Chooses Samsung Contact 7.1 for its Messaging Software

New York, NY, September 23, 2002 ? Samsung SDS, designer of the Samsung
Contact messaging software platform (www.samsungcontact.com), today
announced that Cargill, Incorporated, an international marketer, processor
and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products
and services, will migrate its messaging capabilities from OpenMail to
Samsung Contact 7.1. With over 97,000 employees in 59 countries, Cargill
has purchased 30,000 Samsung Contact 7.1 Server Mailbox Licenses and 10,000
Samsung Contact 7.5 Web & Windows Clients to start.

"We are accustomed to having above 99.95 % availability in a very cost
efficient environment, and Samsung Contact is the product that we believe
will be able to help us maintain our high levels of availability and cost
efficiency," said Alistair Jacques, Vice President of Corporate Information
Technology, Cargill. "In selecting a messaging software provider, it was
important that we secure important guarantees such as low total cost of
ownership (TCO). We're comfortable with this migration since Samsung
Contact uses the same underlying technology as OpenMail."

Samsung Contact's deal with Cargill follows major milestones for Samsung,
which include its win of the licensing rights to Hewlett-Packard's highly
successful OpenMail product and over 60 new customers worldwide since the
product began shipping in late-March 2002. These achievements represent
Samsung's continued growth and proven success in the messaging industry.

"The recognition Cargill has given us as our first major global customer is
exciting," said Bob Eichinger, Americas Regional Manager, Samsung Contact.
"We are proud to have Cargill as our first opinion leader customer. This
relationship brings us one step closer to our ultimate goal, being the
leading global provider of messaging and unified communications software."

The Cargill relationship is a good example of a customer looking to extend
its messaging platform to include unified communications to support its
wireless environment.

Cargill selected Samsung's Premier Plus Support Services, a 24/7-customer
support contract. The flexibility to run Samsung Contact on HP-UX or Linux
servers was another key factor in Cargill's buying decision for many of its
remote locations.

Cargill will begin implementing Samsung Contact's software in October 2002,
and Samsung Technical Consultants will assist in the planning and migration
from OpenMail to Samsung Contact 7.1.

About Samsung Contact
Samsung Contact is an email server product, offering the lowest total cost
of ownership, extreme scalability and solid reliability to email desktop
clients. Amongst the clients supported is Microsoft Outlook, including the
"collaboration" features (such as shared calendars, delegation and offline
folders) which are otherwise only accessible when using a Microsoft server.
Customers can easily migrate to Samsung Contact from leading email products
such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and HP OpenMail. The product has
been developed following Samsung's win of perpetual licensing rights over
Hewlett-Packard's highly successful OpenMail technology. Investment and
commitment to the roadmap will continue to build on the success of
OpenMail, and expectations are that Samsung Contact will become the market
leader in the field of seamless unified communications. Future development
will also encompass technologies such as J2EE and XML. For more
