On Wednesday, Real will announce the immediate release of 13 new free
versions of the RealPlayer 10 for Linux and Mac OS X for the Europe and
Asian markets. These releases coupled with a new distribution partnership
with <http://www.redflag-linux.com/eindex.html>>Red Flag Software help
solidify the RealPlayer as de facto media player for Linux, and points to
another development success for the Helix Community.

Specifically, the nine new versions for RealPlayer 10 for Linux are:
Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean,
Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The four new versions of RealPlayer
10 for Mac OS X are: French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

This is important news for content creators for two reasons:
  i) Only RealAudio/RealVideo 10-based content can reach all Windows, Mac
and Linux desktops, as well as the fast emerging mobile device operating
systems, such as: Symbian, Palm OS, and embedded Linux.
ii) For the first time, Mac-based content creators can use the gold
version of RealPlayer 10 for Mac OS X to preview their multi-platform
RealAudio/RealVideo 10-based work on the same Mac they author their content
on – thus mitigating the need to spend time previewing their content on a
separate PC.

The free RealPlayers be downloaded from: www.real.com/mac and
www.real.com/linux

Seems that they are not really interested in customers. I used to be able to navigate the Real Page quite well, but now I only get a blue bar at the top and then nothing.

Yes, I know I could turn on JavaScript --- but just to get non-free software?

Thanks Real, I stick to Free Alternatives.
