Nice article, and very well written. Sometimes we forget that he's a Finn... I have been trying for a long time to get that level of subtlety in another language and so far have come up short... He clearly has something!
What I want to know is - when do RMS's "Management with Linus" classes start? I would love for hurd to get off the ground but without that linus-factor, I can't see it happening.
Cheers
Antoine

Linus on kernel management style

He's a Swedish-speaking Finn. Very different breed.

I used to deal with engineers from a, well, let's say, a Finnish technology company you probably heard of. Lots of guys who were absolutely silent all the time, you never knew what they were thinking. One very loud guy who would tell me exactly what was wrong with what I was proposing. Like Linus, he was a Swedish speaking Finn. Those guys are far more outspoken than the Finnish-speaking Finns. There are only around 300,000 of them.

And _still_ he is a Finn. And he considers himself so, like most of them.
