SUSE Linux Professional 9.2 released

Novell has announced the November availability of SUSE Linux Professional 9.2. The usual new features are included: 2.6 kernel, KDE 3.3, GNOME 2.6, Evolution 2.0, X.org X11R6.8.1, etc. SUSE also claims improved Bluetooth support.

I think a more correct title would be "SUSE Linux Professional 9.2 announced" - I installed a 9.2 release candidate last night, and while it is very slick, it is definitely not the final product. Actual release should be sometime next month IIRC.

Well, how did you do that? I mean, where did you find a release candidate
that you can install? I have been trying to find one for days when SUSE
Linux 9.1 was announced, with no success, and no answer from Suse.

Our in-house novell rep got me the ISOs - as I said it's really slick, with the suse enhanced 2.6.8 kernel and kde 3.3. The upgrade of my test box from suse 9.1 went perfectly.

OTOH it is missing a few pieces. For instance, spamassassin 3.0 is included, but amavisd-new is completely missing, so the spam fighting toolset is incomplete.

Even if you didn't read the link, you missed "November" in the two lines long summary. It's October now.
