OpenOffice.org announces Engineering Steering Committee

OpenOffice.org is pleased to announce the Engineering Steering
Committee, which is charged with providing advice on technical
implementations to the governing body, the OpenOffice.org Community
Council.  

The specifics of its mandate, however, understate the importance of the
ESC.  Composed of senior developers appointed by the Community Council,
the ESC represents the technical groups making up the Project. Its
advice therefore will have impact both on the nature and direction of
the source, as well as on the processes for code submission and review.
Its creation represents a further step in making OpenOffice.org more
open to developers.

The ESC includes:
