I have tested the Debian experimental packages, and they fail to migrate my 112 MiB ~/evolution directory. Have reported already, no solution (or diagnosis) in sight yet.

There are several Evolution/GNOME 2.8 integration issues in Debian now; unless you want to be among the leading-edge bug finders and squashers, wait a month or two before trying.

Ever heard of a backup copy? And yes, it is the experimental package, but it's not like it's version 0.2 or anything the like. Anyway this was a long time ago. All fixed now.
