Balancing your books? GnuCash is the answer (LinuxWorld.com)

LinuxWorld.com is running a tutorial on GnuCash. "Joe Barr walks us through his experience with GnuCash personal-accounting software. His conclusion? GnuCash is good enough to trust with the bookkeeping chores at a miniature donkey ranch."

Balancing your books? GnuCash is the answer (LinuxWorld.com)

I switched from Quicken to GnuCash about a year ago. I use it only for
personal finances, so I cannot speak to its business features. For personal
finance use, it does everything Quicken does, and does some things better.
My chief complaint is in the area of printing checks. If you're like me
and already have a sizable investment in computer-printable checks,
GnuCash will be annoying in this area, as there is no way to save your
own check format, you have to type in the &*#*@! numbers every time.

If you don't print your own checks, I can highly recommend GnuCash for
personal finances with no reservations.
